Sing Together Albuquerque

Sing Together Albuquerque is a partnership with Albuquerque Public Schools to teach choral singing to elementary students.

Children have the opportunity to learn from professional singers and educators, and interact via video messages and pen pal letters with children from London, England in a similar program.

Together in partnership with the Voces8 Foundation and St. John's Music Ministries, Quintessence sends teaching artists into classrooms throughout the school year, demonstrating expertise and meaningful artistic expression. Because of our year-long commitment to each class, we have built relationships with students and staff and have been rewarded by watching students progress through the year.

Sing Together Albuquerque seeks to:

  • provide high quality and inspirational singing opportunities to elementary and middle school students;

  • strengthen relationships with the students, families and schools by offering community singing opportunities in nearby areas;

  • support music teachers in developing their song-leading skills and to encourage vocal health;

  • help classroom teachers incorporate singing into the school day to support learning, health, and well-being; and

  • celebrate the rich cultural heritage of New Mexico and the American Southwest, and to honor the many generations and cultures that contributed to that heritage.
