Let's Not Blend Voices Anymore. Let's Embrace Differences

Keynote by Dr. Rod Vester
Picture
Loneliness and isolation gripped our world this past year as we faced a global pandemic. Additionally, months into this pandemic, a loud cry for racial justice erupted around the country and the world forcing many to finally admit to and deal with the disparities, injustices, and inequalities Black people have endured for decades. As we move into a new normal and adjust to new ways of living, how can we foster authentic and deeper connections with others that may not look, act, or think like us. Participants will leave with a blueprint and deeper understanding of how they can build a diverse community through collective learning and sharing. Now is the time to embrace differences.

Deep Practice: Dancing inside the lines of our possibilities
Session with Amy Greer

Picture
Cognitive psychologists tell us that there are serious limits to how our brains juggle and process information. This has real implications not only to how we learn, but how we function in the world: how we practice our instruments, rehearse our ensembles, drive our cars, weed our gardens. We will take a look at the science behind our cognitive limits and explore how to work and practice creatively and productively within these sacred and holy lines.

No Sheet Music
Session with Maria Ellis

I'm so excited about singing in person! This session will feature songs taught via oral tradition.  Grab your notebook and let's sing - but sheet music is not needed for this session.
